Cal:

Hope everything is going well with you. It has been about 4 weeks since I have been home and meant to write this sooner. I want to “thank” you, your wife and Richard for my stay at The Guilford House for 25 days. It was very pleasant and helpful to be there for the rehabilitation time needed with all the disciplines such as nursing staff, dietary, Physical Therapy, discharge, etc. Especially to you Cal as CEO, and your assistant Richard. You both have been cordial and seem happy in your positions and even going on beyond and seeing all that’s going on in your facility, your reputation of the Guilford House is out there with the public and word of mouth and my cousin ES and others who have had their loved ones experiencing the care received. The frequent visits, talks, newspapers every day and all you do for keeping the ship going. Can’t thank all of you enough.

Dear Cal and Staff:

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for all the wonderful care I received at Guilford House. There was not any aspect of my care in your facility that was less than excellent. The food, the therapy, the assistance given by the nurses and aids, and even the morning paper. Thank you, thank you. No one likes being away from home when they are not feeling up to par, but your hotel-like atmosphere made me feel like I was on vacation while recovering. I want to commend the outstanding therapy department and therapists who helped me get on my feet again (no pun intended). The dedication and commitment demonstrated really helps make a person feel as if they are special and that they can do it. Thanks again so much for the personal service you provided and the pleasant recovery experience. I am recommending Guilford House to all my friends and feel as if I could be the president of your fan club.

To the Entire Staff at The Guilford House:

My husband and I would like to thank you for the wonderful care I received at The Guilford House after my bilateral total knee replacements. The quality of care I received was outstanding and the rehab experience was wonderful. As a retired nurse, I know how “nursing homes” can be and your attention to excellent patient care was above and beyond the norm. From daily visits from Cal and Richard, to our cozy dinner table for 2 in my room to my after-dinner ice cream re-quests – I appreciated every one of the little “Specialties).

I have told my doctors and my friends of your wonderful facility. I am happy to report that I am walking very well with a cane and have started out patient PT and progressing ahead of schedule. Again, a sincere thank you of all your care.

Dear Cal (and all staff!)

We can’t thank you all enough for the wonderful, warm care that you have given my Mom over the last couple of months! It really has been a home away from home with excellent food and outstanding care-giving – from the RN’s, aides, physical therapists, housekeeping, kitchen help and all the professional staff. We’ll miss all of your smiling faces and Mom hopes to come walking back in for one of your summer cook outs. Thanks again for providing top notch care in such a lovely well run facility!

Megan, Daniele, Diana, Linda, Renee, Cal, Rich and all the others – just wanted to thank all of you for being so kind and thoughtful during my stay. I am doing very good walking with a cane and it won’t be long before I won’t need that. I hope you all had a good XMAS and have a good new year. I will never forget all of you. I will be back to see you all soon.

Dear Pat and Cal,

Thank you so much for talking such good care of L. It was not an easy time for any of us involved, but Guilford House does a very careful job of balancing the often conflicting and emotional demands of patients and their families. If you would, please give my thanks to Tina and Carmen whose compassion and gentleness, while always professional, were a great comfort to those who loved her. Best to you both in what must be one of the most challenging jobs of all.
