BF & Family – October 1012
Dear Cal,
Last June I spent a couple of weeks at your wonderful “resort” and want to thank you for the excellent care I received.
Warmest regards, MW – September 2012
I can’t thank Cal and all the rest of you enough for the fabulous care you gave me for 34 days. I am now, fortunately, almost completely recovered. Thanks in most ways to Guilford House.
My best, DD – September 2012
Thank you for a very pleasant fortnight.
Best Wishes, MW – September 2012
Cal,
First, let me thank you and your extended team on the tremendous assistance you gave me while I was visiting The Guilford House. My recovery continues to improve and I owe this to The Guilford House. Your team has the common understanding and appreciation of what joint replacement recovery is all about. From nursing through physical therapy and hospitality, I was very well taken care of. Please extend my heartfelt thanks to the many folks who were assigned to my care and all those I bumped into while walking the halls. All of them said hello, were pleasant, and asked if they could assist in some way. You must be very proud of your team.
Best regards, RB – August 2012
Dear Pat and Cal,
Congratulations on the excellence you have achieved here at The Guilford House! You deserve all of the accolades one hears out in the community, and I am pleased to have spent ten days with you, recuperating from hip surgery. It is rare to have the owners of a facility as present as you both are, attending to the needs and wishes of patients way beyond what is requested. Richard was very kind and friendly too.
Thank you especially, Cal for providing the conference room for a mini-reunion of some of my 1959 classmates! The luncheon was made very special by your presence and the cool, lovely setting on a 1000 day. The therapy staff was great, as were the meals every day. I felt I was part of a family while I was here. Thank you for providing such caring, excellent environment for healing. I can’t imagine any better place to be.
Fondly, JG – June 2012
Dear Cal:
How I loved my stay at Guilford House -therapeutic in every way! I thank you and all your staff for taking such good care of me – physically and psychologically – It was hard coming home!
God bless, JH – June 2012
Dear Cal,
Warm thanks for your gracious hospitality and delicious lunch [and lactaid ice cream] on 4/13 while I was visiting Sister M. I was impressed with the Guilford House and with your philosophy of care and presence. People need that special attention when they are vulnerable, recovering from surgery, strokes or other illness. May God bless all your endeavors.
My gratitude, Sister MC – April 2012
Thank you for your kindness, compassion and attention to my needs. I am very grateful to you all. Happy and Blessed Easter!

Dear Workers at The Guilford House:
Because of all of you the Guilford House is an unbelievable, incredible place. Starting at the top, the owners are on site daily and get to know all the patients by name and condition. I think if they were asked, they would stand on their heads to make a patient happy. Once when I wasn’t able to eat the wonderful meals provided, Cal asked what I might like to try. I said “Maybe a poached egg”. He went down to the kitchen right then to cook it. Another time, I saw some root beer and mentioned it brought back memories of childhood. A short time later Cal arrived with a root beer-float for me. The nurses were pleasant, sympathetic, efficient and knowledgeable. The nurses’ aids, who have the constant care of the patients, were dedicated. If anyone gets to Heaven it will be they.
One night when I was in terrible pain, I actually prayed that Eileen would be my nurse. I loved so many of them but can’t remember all their names. There was “Precious” the girl with the beautiful hair, the girl with four children, Lynn, and all who helped me. They are God’s angels for sure. The cooks are outstanding. The gourmet meals – and such a choice was works of art, not only delicious but artfully presented. Bernadette, the hairdresser manipulated several wheel chairs in her small room, and magically beautifully fixed everyone’s hair. The housekeeping crew kept the place spotless. One lady who worked in my room daily, I called Patty Sunshine not Merry Sunshine, because she brightened the room with her happy disposition. The Therapy room was spacious with a nice view of the court yard. My therapists, Teresa, Gayle and Ginny were outstanding! Thank you all so very much. I’ll be back to see you when I get better.
Sincerely, FR – March 2012
